Spring 2027 application to be available soon!<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Admissions Process<\/h2>\n<p>Understanding the steps can help you plan ahead. Here\u2019s what to expect when applying to the Teacher Education Program:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Review Eligibility Criteria<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure you meet the academic program, GPA, and prerequisite requirements for your certification path.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Complete Your Application<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit all required materials by the deadline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Track Your Application<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor your status to ensure all documents have been received.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Schedule &amp; Attend Your Interview (<em>if eligible<\/em>)<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in a virtual group interview as part of the admissions process.<\/li>\n<li>Preparation sessions are available to help you feel confident and ready.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Receive Your Admission Decision<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>You\u2019ll be notified via email once your application and interview have been reviewed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Eligibility Criteria<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Requirements vary slightly by certification path. All applicants must meet the following to be considered:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Admission to Montclair State University &#8211; <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/admissions\" target=\"_blank\">Undergraduate Admissions<\/a><\/li>\n<li>GPA Requirement:\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3.0 for applicants to a single certification program <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3.25 for applicants to the Combined Bachelor\u2019s\/Master\u2019s Program with Dual Certification<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Prerequisite Coursework:\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/cssee\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/124\/2025\/11\/11.11.25-P-3-K-6-Undergraduate-Teacher-Education-Program.pdf\">P-3 &amp; K-6 Certifications<\/a> &#8211; 3 courses<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/cssee\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/124\/2025\/05\/P-12-Pre-Program-Sheet-FINAL.pdf\">P-12 Certification<\/a> &#8211; 2 courses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and oral communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Supplemental Requirements:<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\nApplicants who do not meet the minimum GPA requirement for full admission, whose GPA is 0.25 points below the overall\/major GPA requirement, are automatically reviewed as <strong>supplemental applicants<\/strong> and must submit a <strong>Supplemental Essay<\/strong> as part of their application.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Single Certification:\n<ul>\n<li>Students with an overall and\/or major GPA between<strong> 2.75 and 2.99<\/strong> will be considered supplemental applicants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Dual Certification (Combined Bachelor\u2019s\/Master\u2019s):\n<ul>\n<li>Students with an overall and\/or major GPA between <strong>3.0 and 3.24<\/strong> will be considered supplemental applicants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The Supplemental Essay prompt is included in the Teacher Education application.<\/em><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><span class=\"prpl-button\"><a href=\"https:\/\/apply.montclair.edu\/apply\/\">Apply Now<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Admission Requirements<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Your application is considered complete when the following materials are submitted:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/apply.montclair.edu\/apply\">Completed Teacher Education application<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Unofficial Montclair State University transcript (this can be accessed through <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/nest\" target=\"_blank\">NEST<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Admission essay(s)\n<ul>\n<li>Single Certification &#8211; 1 required essay<\/li>\n<li>Dual Certification &#8211; 2 required essays<\/li>\n<li>*Supplemental essay for supplemental applicants*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Resume<\/li>\n<li>Letter of Recommendation\n<ul>\n<li>Must be from a college-level professor<\/li>\n<li>Students must follow up to ensure it is submitted by the deadline<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Deadlines<\/h2>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<th><strong>Start Term<\/strong><\/th>\n<th><strong>Deadline<\/strong><\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Fall Admission (Single AND Dual Certification)<\/td>\n<td>February 1st<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Spring Admission (Single Certification ONLY)<\/td>\n<td>September 15th<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><em><strong>Please note:<\/strong> Combined Bachelor&#8217;s \/ Master&#8217;s with Dual Certification applicants may only begin in the Fall and will adhere to the February 1st deadline.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"prpl-row\"><\/div><div class=\"prpl-column one-half\"><span class=\"prpl-button full-width\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/cssee\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/124\/2025\/05\/Teacher-Education-Admissions-Overview-FINAL.pdf\">Teacher Education Program Overview<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Have Questions?
