For more information on certification testing requirements, see below<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Graduate Requirements<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p>For information on admissions to the <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/academics\/master-of-arts-in-teaching\/\" target=\"_blank\">Master of Arts in Teaching Program<\/a> or any graduate programs, please contact:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Graduate School Admissions<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:graduate@montclair.edu\">graduate@montclair.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"prpl-drawer open\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Important&colon; Basic Skills Requirement Update<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p>On June 28, 2024, Governor Murphy signed a <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/pub.njleg.state.nj.us\/Bills\/2024\/A2000\/1669_R1.PDF\" target=\"_blank\">law<\/a> that states students no longer will be required to complete a basic reading, writing, and mathematics testing requirement for admission into a teacher preparation program. This law will become effective on January 1, 2025. The logistical details regarding this change will need to be worked out here at the university, but we wanted to let you know as soon as possible that this law means <strong>Montclair State University will not require the basic skills requirement for undergraduate, postBA, or MAT candidates currently applying for admissions into the Teacher Education Program for Spring 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please note that Teacher Education Program candidates still will be required to complete all required Praxis subject assessment tests prior to the Clinical Year, as well as any other required tests in their certification area.
