She won the award for the best graduate student paper with her essay entitled &#8220;Voice, Cultural Identity, and Inclusion: Examining African American Exclusion and Urban Language Issues in Higher Education.&#8221; She first developed this paper in a Graduate Research Methods course taught by Dr. Naomi Liebler in 2016.
