Montclair State hosted two Women Entrepreneurship Week events in 2019.<\/p>\n
“Finding Success as Food Entrepreneurs” event on Oct. 21, 2019 Event featured five sampling tables with tastes from women entrepreneurs, including\u00a0Belle John’s Soul Food<\/a>, Kurly K\u00fcrt\u0151sh<\/a>, LilyLyte Vegan Snack, Three Daughters Baking Co.<\/a>, and Undercover Chocolate Co.<\/a><\/p>\n Conference featured short TED-style talks from successful women entrepreneurs from a variety of industries, including\u00a0Darlene Gillard<\/a>, director of community and founding team member of digitalundivided<\/a>;\u00a0Lisa Hirsh<\/a>, president of Accurate Box<\/a>;\u00a0Karen Kessler<\/a>, president of Evergreen Partners<\/a>;\u00a0Betty Manetta<\/a>, president & CEO of Argent Associates<\/a>;\u00a0Siqi Mou<\/a>, co-founder and CEO of HelloAva<\/a>;\u00a0Abby Taylor<\/a>, co-founder of Playa Bowls<\/a>;\u00a0Melissa Walker<\/a>, president and founder, Jazz House Kids<\/a>.<\/p>\n A panel of tech entrepreneurs offered advice about succeeding in a male-dominated industry. Panelists included\u00a0Jessica Gonzalez<\/a>, founder and CEO of InCharged<\/a>; Rachel Lyubovitzky<\/a>, co-founder and CEO of EverythingBenefits<\/a>; Jeanne Pinder<\/a>, CEO and founder of ClearHealthCosts<\/a>; and Kathleen Coviello<\/a>, VP of Technology & Life Sciences Investments at New Jersey Economic Development Authority<\/a>. The moderator was\u00a0Joelle Tramel<\/a>,\u00a0Head of Cross Video Sales Solutions, YouTube & Video Solutions, Google<\/a>.<\/p>\n During lunch, Google’s #IamRemarkable Workshop was led by Jen Shap<\/a>, Google Agency Business Lead.\u00a0#IamRemarkable is a Google initiative empowering women and underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond.<\/p>\n
