  • Thursday April 2  – Contemplative Classroom Exercises for Reducing Stress, Increasing Concentration, and Rediscovering Purpose with Maughn Gregory, Department of Educational Foundation
    • Location: Remote via Zoom.

    • Description: In this workshop Professor of Educational Foundations Maughn Gregory will demonstrate five contemplative classroom exercises designed to reduce stress, increase concentration, and/or rediscover purpose. Each exercise lasts 5-10 minutes and can be conducted in online classrooms either synchronously or asynchronously. Student handouts for each exercise will be shared, as well as resources on contemplative pedagogy.

    • Description: Faculty members have a great deal of expertise on subjects that matter to the public, and reporters want to help share that knowledge with their readers, listeners or viewers. Working with the news media is an exciting opportunity to help educate the public while building the visibility of your program and the University. This workshop will provide simple, actionable tips for working with the news media. Topics include:  understanding the media’s needs; delivering your message effectively in a news media interview; and partnering with the Office of University Communications & Marketing. This session is a pre-requisite for additional workshops that will provide advanced training.
