  • CANVAS Universal Guidelines -these guidelines represent minimal usage of CANVAS that will support typical instructional delivery of ALL programs as well as supporting a range of other scenarios (e.g., campus closures, etc.). These Guidelines are further detailed in the Montclair State University Syllabus, which has elements that faculty can copy directly into their courses.
  • MSU Online Teaching Preparation Checklist — intended to support faculty with expertise in face to face teaching as they re-develop their courses for online teaching.  The checklist is aligned with the MSU CANVAS Universal Guidelines, ITDS’ guidance on preparing for online, and with the most frequently cited Teaching and Learning principles (including evidence-based principles of learning
  • OFA Teaching Basics — advice and suggestions regarding the most basic if challenging issues of teaching, from active learning and assessment design to leading discussions and designing assignments
  • Recommended Remote Teaching Resources – topic-specific strategies and tools via drop-down menus to guide specific elements of moving your classes online (updated daily).
  • Sprague Library Resources for Teaching Online – a growing collection of books on teaching online put together by the librarians at MSU
  • The Back-Up Teaching Plan — a portal with instructional support for F2F faculty who need to quickly move their class fully online.
  • Accessibility FAQs — As part of the Digital Accessibility Initiative, these FAQs help instructors follow-through on our intentions to be accessible in our teaching, providing “how-to’s” for a great range of student needs. Also, consult the faculty resources page of the Disability Resource Center (DRC).
  • Around Campus – resources available to faculty members around campus, including technological, community-based, human resources, and more.
