Workshop Series

The Office for Faculty Excellence will continue to offer workshops on generative AI and its impacts on higher education throughout the spring semester. Introductory and Intermediate-level workshops will be available to help orient faculty in the field of generative AI, provide opportunities for hands-on experiments, and offer ideas on how to make use of generative AI tools in the classroom.

Faculty of all ranks are welcome to attend as many workshops as they would like, at the level that they find most comfortable and helpful for their needs. See below for registration links and additional information about each workshop in the series. All workshops in the series will be offered regularly.

Generative AI 101: What You Need to Know

Introductory overview of the generative AI field and ints impacts on teaching and learning, including plagiarism threat, assignment and course design tips, and possible need for curricular change. 30 minutes+optional discussion session.

Do-It-Now: Draft a Syllabus Policy on Generative AI

A 30-minute hands-on session walking you through the process of creating a syllabus statement or policy on Generative AI. Participants learn about the benefits and pitfalls of different policy options, and leave the session with a draft of a policy.

Session for those instructors who are interested in leveraging generative AI in their teaching. Your ideas are welcome, too.
