{"id":263,"date":"2018-03-12T15:24:49","date_gmt":"2018-03-12T19:24:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/faculty-handbook\/?page_id=263"},"modified":"2022-05-12T17:54:40","modified_gmt":"2022-05-12T21:54:40","slug":"outside-employment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/faculty-handbook\/personnel\/outside-employment\/","title":{"rendered":"Outside Employment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The guidelines on outside employment provide that a full-time employee of a public institution of higher education may engage in outside employment only if the outside employment does not:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>constitute a conflict of interest;<\/li>\n<li>occur at a time when the employee is expected to perform his\/her assigned duties;<\/li>\n<li>diminish the employee&#8217;s efficiency in performing his\/her work obligation at the institution.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>These guidelines do not apply to outside employment undertaken during annual leave or vacation periods, except that no such outside employment may constitute a conflict of interest.<\/p>\n<p>Employees whose titles are included within the state colleges unit must report their regular and continuing outside employment.
