Through painterly and sculptural expressions, he explores the interrelationship of nature and technology, drawing inspiration from natural forms and ecology as well as machinery and gaming lore. Each of his works are heavily fabricated and often inter-blended with synthetic, manmade, and natural material. Slippages occur in conceptual and formal boundaries within Cloud’s work, creating a space to witness an alternate interpretation of what can be called natural.

Recent exhibitions include Terms and Conditions, at Kravets Wehby, (New York, NY) 2022, Augurhythms, at Hesse Flatow, (New York, NY) 2022, (solo) AUTOVENT at Projet Pangée, Montreal, Canada, 2022; The Drop (2022) and Zwischenzug (2021) at Below Grand (New York, NY). Cloud has also presented in multiple group exhibitions at Frederick Snitzer (Miami, FL) 2019, Thierry Goldberg (New York, NY) 2018 and LTD LA (Los Angeles, CA) 2020. He has been featured in OFLUXO, Tzvetnik, Artviewer, Brooklyn Rail, Art News, and Daily Lazy.

Case Studies 2: Justin Cloud – The Garden Kasser Theater Cases January 31 – July 31, 2023 Case Studies 2: Justin Cloud – The Garden is the latest in the new series of solo exhibitions in the Alexander Kasser Theater Cases initiated by Director Megan C.
