International Student Orientation

All new F-1 and J-1 students, including: Freshmen, Freshmen Transfer, Transfer students from other U.S. Institutions, graduate students, study-abroad students, and those students who changed their status to F-1 must attend this orientation. This is a requirement in addition to the New Student Orientation, Transfer Session Day or Graduate Orientation.

Failure to attend the orientation will result in a hold on your registration for the following semester.

Topics covered: maintaining your F-1 or J-1 status, employment, social security numbers and travel. Information will also be provided on U.S. culture, academic success, staying healthy and health insurance, opening a bank account, campus life, and more. Spouses are invited to attend.

Orientation will include a document check-in, so it is mandatory you bring your passport and I-20 or DS-2019. Students are required to stay for the entire orientation. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the orientation. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
