The scholarship typically covers tuition and fees, university health insurance, on-campus accommodation and a campus meal plan. Students should begin to prepare for this exam immediately, using study guides offered through various publications and resources in the Dominican Republic such as\u00a0<a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/educationusa.state.gov\/centers\/educationusa-advising-center-instituto-cultural-dominico-americano-santo-domingo\" target=\"_blank\">EducationUSA<\/a>\u00a0whose office is located in El Instituto Dominico-Americano.<\/p>\n<p>The Montclair State University institutional code for GRE test reporting is<strong>\u00a02520<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Foreign Credential Evaluation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants with a non-US degree must submit a course-by-course evaluation along with U.S. degree equivalency information from any member of the<a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.naces.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0National Association of Credential Evaluation Services<\/a>\u00a0or by\u00a0<a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/educatedchoices.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Educated Choices<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Welcome and Orientation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prior to your arrival on campus you will be invited to our welcome and orientation in Santo Domingo. You will be advised of dates and details following confirmation of your scholarship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Accommodation for MESCyT Students<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On campus accommodation is provided in a single room in\u00a0<a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/residence-life\/living-on-campus\/residence-halls\/the-village\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Village<\/a>\u00a0apartment complex. The room rate in The Village includes heat, electricity, water, A\/C, 24 hour security desk coverage, Wi-Fi, and basic cable TV service. The Village is a short walk from campus or there is a free shuttle service. MESCyT will be billed directly for the cost of your housing. Each apartment is shared by four students and includes a shared living area, shared kitchen and two bathrooms.\u00a0 Housing may be available during the summer but the cost is not covered by the MESCyT scholarship. Over 5000 students live on campus in a safe and welcoming environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Visa Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will need to apply for a J-1 visa to be eligible to study in the United States.\u00a0Once accepted we will provide you with the necessary documents so you can start this process. <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/j1visa.state.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Find out more about the J-1 visa\u00a0here<\/a>.
