Global Ambassadors will have a chance to meet with prospective and current students from around the world and share their experience about our university. Global Ambassadors will also support the OGE team in other office-related functions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"line number3 index2 alt2\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Expectations<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p><strong>All Global Ambassadors must:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attend a mandatory training session<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Answer front desk phone calls<\/li>\n<li>Answer general questions at the front desk<\/li>\n<li>Be on time and professional<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Actively participate in our chat platform<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be available and volunteer at our Fall and Spring International Student Orientation during assigned time slots\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attend at least two Global Engagement events each semester, including trips and\/or international student events<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assist at the World\u2019s Fair event and events for International Education Week (IEW)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assist the OGE staff with other duties as needed<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Eligibility Requirements<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p><strong>What are the requirements to join the GAP?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To be eligible to participate in the Global Ambassador Program, students must:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA from Montclair State University<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have earned at least 30 credits at the time of application (for undergraduate students)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have at least one semester completed at Montclair State University<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credits for undergraduate students and 9 credits for graduate students)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be in good academic and disciplinary standing<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have an expected graduation date of December 2026 or later<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Submit an online application and, if selected, be interviewed by the OGE staff<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Benefits of Participation<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p><strong>There are many benefits to being a Global Ambassador:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Opportunity to develop global perspectives and cultural literacy, while creating connections from around the world<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mentorship and leadership skills development<\/span><\/li>\n<li>A chance to build your resume<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Application &amp; Job Description<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/116\/2024\/08\/Global-Ambassador-Job-Description-2024.pdf\">View full job description<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1AxDb3WQYOo_7W2aywcy-CLvCYVC38CMi1ldevPfA2M8\/edit?ts=66b226f3\">Global Ambassador Application<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Montclair State University does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, gender, disability, age, marital status, affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and veteran status, and provides equal access to its online programs, services and activities.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<h2><strong>International Student Volunteers &#8211; <\/strong>Global Hawks<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Office of Global Engagement at Montclair State University is excited to share a new volunteer opportunity for students who are interested in connecting with prospective international students.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We are currently looking for International Student Volunteers to speak with prospective students through a platform that connects prospective students with higher education institutions and their staff and students. In this role, student volunteers will share their experiences at Montclair, answer questions about campus life, and help future students learn more about the university.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The time commitment is\u00a0approximately 1\u20135 hours per week, and volunteers will communicate with students through video calls and messaging. Because prospective students join from different parts of the world, volunteers should have some availability that works across multiple time zones (such as early mornings or later evenings).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This is a great opportunity to develop mentorship and leadership skills while representing Montclair State University and helping future Red Hawks feel welcomed and informed. Additionally, volunteers will have the opportunity to develop global perspectives and cultural literacy, while creating connections from around the world.
