In addition, students will have a unique opportunity of doing research on related security projects.<\/p>\n<p>Students who have limited or no background in Computer Science and\/or Information Technology may be accepted under the condition of bridging the gap through completion of one to four additional courses in Computer Science Fundamentals. The program will combine the fundamentals of Cybersecurity (covered in the core courses), with the freedom to choose the areas of Cybersecurity they will study deeper (electives from Cybersecurity courses). Graduates will be prepared to either join the work force or further pursue academic advancement.<\/p>\n<p>Our program is uniquely positioned to: (1) accommodate professionals from diverse academic backgrounds and (2) provide a broader coverage of Cybersecurity topics with computational as well as legal and ethical training.\u00a0 This approach will address demands in both technical and managerial fields of Cybersecurity.<\/p>\n<p>Additional benefits of this program include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Comprehensive and affordable<\/li>\n<li>Students gain state-of-the-art cybersecurity skills to meet the demands of fast-growing industry<\/li>\n<li>Flexible curriculum taught by Ph.D.-level cybersecurity experts<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects<\/li>\n<li>Access to modern infrastructure and computing equipment in the Center for Computing and Information Science<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>All students transitioning into the Undergraduate portion of the combined program will have a 3.0 Undergraduate GPA.\u00a0 Students with a GPA below a 3.0 will not be referred to change their major to the Undergraduate portion of the program. This program will also have a total of 9 swing credits.<\/div>\n<div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Admission Requirements<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p>All students transitioning into the Undergraduate portion of the combined program will have a 3.0 Undergraduate GPA.\u00a0 Students with a GPA below a 3.0 will not be referred to change their major to the Undergraduate portion of the program.<\/p>\n<p>The Graduate School requires a U.S. bachelor\u2019s degree, or the equivalent, in order to be eligible to apply for the Cybersecurity (MS) graduate program. This checklist can be a reference point for you during the<br \/>\napplication process to ensure that you have a comprehensive understanding of the steps<br \/>\nneeded to apply, as well as all corresponding supplemental materials for your specific<br \/>\nprogram of interest.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Application Deadline: Rolling Admission<\/li>\n<li>Submit Online Application: Please create your online account and submit your application by following the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/graduate\/how-to-apply\/\">general application instructions<\/a> and pay (or waive) the non-refundable $60 application fee. Once this step has been completed, the online portal will allow you to upload your supplemental materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>The following is a list of the supplemental materials that will accompany your application for the Cybersecurity (Combined BS in Computer Science\/MS in Cybersecurity) program:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Transcript:\u00a0One from each college attended.<\/li>\n<li>Statement of Purpose &#8211; Please write an integrated essay providing a response to each of the following questions:\n<ul>\n<li>What are your goals for graduate study and your future career?<\/li>\n<li>In what ways do your academic background and your professional experiences provide evidence of your potential for success in the program you selected and in your eventual career? Please give specific examples of relevant coursework and\/or experience.<\/li>\n<li>Is there any further information we should consider in assessing your candidacy?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Letters of Recommendation: Two (2) letters of recommendation, from persons qualified to evaluate the applicant&#8217;s promise of academic achievement and potential for professional growth.<\/li>\n<li>Resume: Required<\/li>\n<li>Students holding degrees from non-US institutions must request a course-by-course transcript evaluation from a member of the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.naces.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">National Association of Credential Evaluation Services<\/a> or by <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"http:\/\/educatedchoices.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Educated Choices<\/a>. <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.toefl.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language)<\/a>,\u00a0<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ielts.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">IELTS (International English Language Testing System)<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/englishtest.duolingo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Duolingo English Test<\/a>\u00a0are required for applicants to any program who earned their degree in a country where English is not the official language.
