ABP provides retirement benefits, life insurance and disability coverage, which can help provide security in retirement.<\/p>\n<div class=\"link-list\">\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#elig\">Alternate Benefit Program Eligibility<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#contrib\">Alternate Benefit Program Mandatory Contributions<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#vest\">Alternate Benefit Program Vesting<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#carriers\">Alternate Benefits Program Investment Carriers<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#forms\">Alternate Benefit Program Forms<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#info\">Alternate Benefits Program Additional Information<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h5><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Alternate Benefit Program Eligibility<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p>You may be eligible to enroll in the Alternate Benefit Program if you meet one of the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regularly appointed faculty<\/li>\n<li>Visiting professors<\/li>\n<li>Part-time lecturers<\/li>\n<li>Managerial, Professional, Supervisory, Confidential and Administrative staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note that employees holding F1, J1, C03b or C03c visas are not eligible to enroll.<\/p>\n<h5><\/h5><\/div><\/div><\/h5>\n<h5><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Alternate Benefits Program Mandatory Contributions<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<dl class=\"compact\">\n<dt>Employee Contribution:<\/dt>\n<dd>5% of base salary made on a pretax basis (maximum contribution)<\/dd>\n<dt>Employer Contribution:<\/dt>\n<dd>8% employer match of employees\u2019 base salary up to an annual salary of $175,000 ($14,000) based on the state of NJ regulation<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<h5><\/h5><\/div><\/div><\/h5>\n<h5><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Alternate Benefits Program Vesting<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<dl class=\"compact\">\n<dt>Vesting:<\/dt>\n<dd>1 Year or Immediate Vesting, if applicable<\/dd>\n<dt>Immediate Vesting:<\/dt>\n<dd>A new employee who already owns a retirement contract containing employer and employee contributions due to higher education employment or a new employee who is an active or vested member of another state-administered retirement system in the U.S. is considered vested<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<h5><\/h5><\/div><\/div><\/h5>\n<h5><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Alternate Benefits Program Investment Carriers<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p>The Benefits team and ABP investment carriers offer retirement planning counseling sessions and workshops on campus throughout the year.
