{"id":5163,"date":"2020-10-15T15:11:25","date_gmt":"2020-10-15T19:11:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/human-resources\/?p=5163"},"modified":"2021-03-23T09:41:48","modified_gmt":"2021-03-23T13:41:48","slug":"full-holiday-timekeeping-details-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/human-resources\/2020\/10\/15\/full-holiday-timekeeping-details-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Full Holiday Timekeeping Details"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The following detailed information is regarding the November\/December Closings, as well as the required timekeeping steps to take for these days. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The University will be closed the day after Thanksgiving (Friday, November 27) and four non-holiday workdays between Christmas and New Year\u2019s 2020 (December 28, 29, 30 &amp; 31) (referred to as the \u201cNovember\/December Closings\u201d).<\/p>\n<h2>CWA<\/h2>\n<p>CWA \u2013 Earning Compensatory Time: CWA members may earn compensatory time to cover the November\/December Closings. CWA employees assigned a 35-hour workweek may work a regular schedule on any of the following three holidays:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Columbus Day \u2013 Monday, October 12, 2020<\/li>\n<li>Election Day \u2013 Tuesday, November 3, 2020<\/li>\n<li>Veterans\u2019 Day \u2013 Wednesday, November 11, 2020<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>CWA employees may apply compensatory and\/or earned leave time, except sick leave, to cover the remaining hours during the November\/December Closings. If employees do not have sufficient compensatory or leave time, they may elect not to be compensated for the days on which the University will be closed.<\/p>\n<p>Hours worked on the aforementioned holidays by CWA permanent part-time employees with at least a 50% time schedule will be entered in Workday as \u201cComp Time Accrued @ 1.5.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>CWA Workday Timekeeping:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Taking the Day Off on Columbus Day, Election Day &amp; Veterans Day:<\/strong> If you take the holiday off, you do not have to take any action in Workday.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Working on Columbus Day, Election Day, &amp; Veterans Day:<\/strong> If you work the holiday, enter your regular scheduled hours (7.00 hours for a 35-hour week and 8.00 hours for a 40-hour week) for the day under \u201cComp Time Accrued @ 1.5.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Day after Thanksgiving:<\/strong> This is an agreed upon unpaid furlough day for 2020. \u00a0Please enter \u201cAbsent without Pay\u201d and \u201cFurlough Day\u201d as the Time off Reason, if you are furloughed on this day.<\/li>\n<li><strong>December Closings:<\/strong> Enter your scheduled hours for each day as \u201cVacation\u201d, \u201cComp Time Taken\u201d, or \u201cAbsent Without Pay\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>AFT<\/h2>\n<p>AFT \u2013 Earning Holiday Time: AFT Professional Staff employees and Librarians may earn AFT Holiday Time for the December Closings by working on one of the following holidays:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Columbus Day \u2013 Monday, October 12,2020<\/li>\n<li>Election Day \u2013 Tuesday, November 3, 2020<\/li>\n<li>Veterans\u2019 Day \u2013 Wednesday, November 11, 2020<\/li>\n<li>Martin Luther King\u2019s Birthday \u2013 Monday, January 18, 2021 (MLK\u2019s birthday applies to AFT Library personnel only.)<\/li>\n<li>Presidents\u2019 Day \u2013 Monday, February 15, 2021<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The four additional days of the December Closings may be covered by exercising provisions of the Statewide Agreement, including work on additional holidays, or by applying other appropriate earned leave balances, exclusive of sick leave.<\/p>\n<h3>AFT Workday Timekeeping:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Taking the Day Off on Columbus Day, Election Day &amp; Veterans Day:<\/strong> If you take the holiday off and choose to use a Vacation day during the 2020 December Closing, do not take any action in Workday (as you will not earn \u201cAFT Holiday Worked\u201d time for the holiday closures).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Working on Columbus Day, Election Day, &amp; Veterans Day<\/strong>: Enter 7 hours under \u201cAFT Holiday Accrued.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Day after Thanksgiving:<\/strong> This is an agreed upon unpaid furlough day for 2020. Please enter \u201cAbsent without Pay\u201d and \u201cFurlough Day\u201d as the Time off Reason if you are furloughed on this day.<\/li>\n<li><strong>December Closing:<\/strong> If you worked Columbus Day, Veterans\u2019 Day, Election Day, and plan to work Presidents\u2019 Day 2021, please enter 7 hours for each day of the December Closing and use \u201cAFT Holiday Taken\u201d as the time entry code. If you did not work the four holidays, please use \u201cVacation\u201d or \u201cAbsent Without Pay\u201d. As a reminder, AFT Library personnel can work on Martin Luther King&#8217;s Birthday to earn AFT Holiday Time for the December Closing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>IFPTE, Police, Managers, Temporary &amp; Student Workers Workday Timekeeping<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Taking the Day Off on Columbus Day, Election Day &amp; Veterans\u2019 Day:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>IFPTE: non-Kronos:<\/strong> If you take the holiday off, you do not have to take any action in Workday.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Managers:<\/strong> Do not enter anything in Workday for this holiday unless you are absent, in which case you must use sick or vacation time balances to account for your absence.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Police:<\/strong> Enter time off as usual.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Temporary and Student workers:<\/strong> Do not enter anything in Workday for these days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Working on Columbus Day, Election Day, &amp; Veterans Day:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>IFPTE: non-Kronos:<\/strong> Enter your regular scheduled hours (7.00 hours for a 35-hour week &amp; 8.00 hours for a 40- hour week) for that day under \u201cComp Time Accrued @ 1.5.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Managers:<\/strong> Do not enter anything in Workday for these days.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Police:<\/strong> Enter time as usual.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Temporary and Student workers:<\/strong> Enter time as usual.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Taking the Day Off After Thanksgiving Day and the December Closings: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Remember that Friday, December 25, 2020 and Friday, January 1, 2021, are considered paid holidays and no timekeeping entry is needed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>IFPTE: non-Kronos:<\/strong> For the December Closing, enter your scheduled hours for each day as Vacation, Comp Time Taken, or Absent Without Pay. The Day after Thanksgiving is an agreed upon unpaid furlough day for 2020.\u00a0 Please enter \u201cAbsent without Pay\u201d and \u201cFurlough Day\u201d as the Time off Reason if you are furloughed on this day.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Managers:<\/strong> Do not enter anything in Workday.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Police:<\/strong> Enter time off as usual.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Temporary and Student workers:<\/strong> Do not enter anything in Workday for the day after Thanksgiving or the December Closings.
