{"id":6967,"date":"2018-06-27T10:15:49","date_gmt":"2018-06-27T14:15:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/?page_id=6967"},"modified":"2021-11-17T10:47:39","modified_gmt":"2021-11-17T15:47:39","slug":"non-default-workstation-request-process","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/non-default-workstation-request-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Non-Default Workstation Request Process"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Process for Requesting Non-Default Workstation Equipment- Apple, Advanced Lenovos and\/or Desktops<\/h2>\n<p>After following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/computer-life-cycle-replacement\/\">replacement process<\/a>\u00a0when your existing workstation is expiring, a client may request non-default workstation equipment with an appropriate business justification via an email sent to either the Academic Technology Director\/Coordinator of the College\/School (for Academic Affairs) or the Vice President (for Administrative Areas). The email must include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Name of Employee<\/li>\n<li>Title of Employee<\/li>\n<li>Start Date (for new staff)<\/li>\n<li>Model Requested &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/computer-life-cycle-replacement\/computer-hardware-configurations\/\">Approved Options<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Justification\n<ul>\n<li>The justification must document your specific business needs of why this particular equipment is necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Academic Technology Director\/Coordinator or Vice President will review the justification for consistency with IT guidelines; an incident will be created in ServiceNow to track the request; Requests that do not comply with Information Technology guidelines will be recommended for standard Lenovo laptop or desktop.<\/p>\n<p>The AVP of Technical Support Services will review the request and refer any questions to the requesting employee and the approving VP.
