We have rolled back these updates in order to continue to allow printing while we worked on a solution.\u00a0 We have resolved this issue by expanding the current use of PaperCut through the introduction of <strong>Print Deploy<\/strong>, which allows PaperCut to handle all printer related access and printer traffic, regardless of OS updates. Unfortunately, this change requires Mac users to install new drivers on their university owned and managed computers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do I need to do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are a <strong>MAC user<\/strong> and utilize a networked printer or print to a Sharp copier on campus, you must <strong>reinstall<\/strong> any networked printers on your University owned laptop<strong> by Thursday, January 27, 2022<\/strong>.\u00a0 If you do not update, <strong>you will be unable<\/strong> to print to the networked printer as of Monday, January 31, 2022.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Installation Steps<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In order to install the printer through Print Deploy, you must first download and install the \u201c<strong>Print Deploy\u201d<\/strong> utility found in the Software Center prior to reinstalling any printers.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/media\/montclairedu\/oit\/helpdesk\/JAMF-Self-Service.pdf\"><strong>How to Access Software Center on a Mac<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Next, log into PaperCut to reinstall your printers or Sharp device.\u00a0 The directions can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/168\/2022\/01\/Papercut-Print-Deploy-Printer-Installation-Instructions.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reminder:<\/strong> We have standardized on printers across campus so if your device is not listed, you will need to work with your local academic technology team to add your printer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What if I have a Windows PC?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At this time, we have had only a handful of users report an issue with printing from Windows machines.\u00a0 However, if you do experience an issue after Sunday, January 30, 2022, we ask that you follow a similar procedure for Windows.
