Most functionality between Windows 10 and Windows 11 is similar but you will see a redesigned user interface, with a new logon screen, start menu, task bar, and snap layouts. You should also see a smoother transition from monitor to laptop, as Windows will now remember how your apps were positioned when you unplug from a monitor. The update also allows us to incorporate tools that will allow us to better manage software and security updates and deployments remotely.

Windows 11 User Documentation

Please Note: Information Technology strongly recommends restarting your computer and/or those you manage on a regular basis.

Questions?

If you have questions regarding either the Windows 11 or Windows 10 -21H2 deployment, please contact the IT Service Desk (973-655-7971, opt. 1) or your local Academic Technology team.

The Division of Information Technology has successfully upgraded a majority of our eligible and managed machines to Windows 11 across campus.
