{"id":25130,"date":"2025-01-14T15:10:17","date_gmt":"2025-01-14T20:10:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/?p=25130"},"modified":"2025-01-14T15:10:17","modified_gmt":"2025-01-14T20:10:17","slug":"workday-student-project-team-gathers-for-intensive-workshop-to-drive-key-decisions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/2025\/01\/14\/workday-student-project-team-gathers-for-intensive-workshop-to-drive-key-decisions\/","title":{"rendered":"Workday Student Project Team Gathers for Intensive Workshop to Drive Key Decisions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Workday Student Project team gathered on January 7-9 for an intensive in-person workshop on the Montclair State University campus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">President Koppell kicked off the event with opening remarks, and executive sponsors including CIO David Chun,\u00a0<\/span>SVP for Finance &amp; Administration Ben Durant, and VP for Enrollment Management Wendy Lin-Cook were in attendance to support the team and express appreciation for their participation, insights, and hard work.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In addition to executive leadership, the workshop brought together more than 60 participants, including representatives from Workday, consultants from Montclair\u2019s implementation partner Alchemy, and leads from areas across the University, including the Office of the Registrar, Student Records, Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Curriculum and Advising, IT, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In addition, a focus group of 14 Montclair and Bloomfield students offered valuable feedback on their experiences as current students, which will help guide the design of the new system to address student needs and expectations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The workshop focused on collaborative discussions and hands-on sessions to make critical decisions for the project. The in-person format and participation across multiple areas allowed the group to share perspectives and proactively address anticipated challenges.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;The Workday workshop demonstrated everyone\u2019s dedication through full attendance and active participation,\u201d said Delavar Basha, Project Management Office Director and Project Manager for the Workday Student project. \u201cThe collaborative discussions and insights will guide the next steps for our project\u2019s success.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The team has successfully completed Workset A, a foundational phase focused on system foundation and academic structure alignment.
