{"id":25863,"date":"2025-10-17T09:17:32","date_gmt":"2025-10-17T13:17:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/?p=25863"},"modified":"2025-10-17T09:17:32","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T13:17:32","slug":"status-of-the-computer-lifecycle-replacement-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/2025\/10\/17\/status-of-the-computer-lifecycle-replacement-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Status of the Computer Lifecycle Replacement Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"212\" data-end=\"329\">The Division of Information Technology would like to share an update on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/computer-life-cycle-replacement\/\">Computer Lifecycle Replacement Program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"331\" data-end=\"586\">Over the past few months, we\u2019ve shared in our IT newsletters that computer replacements are temporarily on hold as we complete an RFQ process to select a new vendor. We expect to begin replacements in <strong data-start=\"532\" data-end=\"543\">January<\/strong>, starting with the oldest devices first.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"588\" data-end=\"858\">At this time, we\u2019re waiting for proposals to be returned, with the intention of presenting our recommendation for approval at the December Board of Trustees meeting. Once approved, orders will be placed, and replacements will begin as soon as the new equipment arrives.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"860\" data-end=\"1239\">As part of our updated process introduced this summer, replacement requests must be submitted and approved before any orders are placed. This ensures that each new computer is tied directly to a specific user. While this means requests may remain in the system for a few months, this proactive approach helps us stay organized and ready to move quickly once replacements begin.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1241\" data-end=\"1467\">If your device is due for renewal, please make sure your replacement request has been submitted. If you\u2019re unsure about your renewal status, contact your department\u2019s technology liaison or the IT Service Desk for assistance.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1469\" data-end=\"1827\">If you\u2019re currently experiencing computer issues that can\u2019t wait until the replacement cycle begins, a loaner device will be provided so you can continue your work without interruption.
