{"id":411,"date":"2017-12-12T19:49:31","date_gmt":"2017-12-12T19:49:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/inserra-chair\/?page_id=411"},"modified":"2019-04-29T12:45:28","modified_gmt":"2019-04-29T16:45:28","slug":"articles","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/inserra-chair\/opportunities-for-students\/ita-and-business\/articles\/","title":{"rendered":"Students of Italian Create Articles for La Voce di New York"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The following five articles were created as part of a partnership between the online newspaper\u00a0<em>La Voce di New York\u00a0<\/em>and Teresa Fiore as instructor of the\u00a0Contemporary Italian Cultural Studies\u00a0(ITAL381) course.<\/p>\n<p>Fully integrated into the curriculum of the class (Italian media, design, photography, immigration, etc.), the articles functioned as final projects and gave five students a chance to be active participants in events on and off campus &#8211; such as NYU screenings and book presentations as well as gallery exhibits in New York &#8211; and reviewers for a newspaper with a strong following in the Italian\/Italophile community in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Vittoria Fronte (Italian major) and Talia Antonacci (minor) covered the latest Inserra events on, respectively,\u00a0the historical and contemporary role of the Italian media in the U.S. and the Italian Reggio Emilia educational philosophy and its application in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Italian major Dariell Vasquez attended and wrote a piece on a talk with\u00a0author and photographer Kristina Gill for the presentation of her latest book on traditional Roman flavors,\u00a0<em>Tasting Rome: Fresh flavors &amp;
