This year\u2019s edition \u2014 the thirty-first, since its inception in 1989 \u2014 includes talks by Montclair State University\u2019s Classics and Humanities faculty on Virgil as a medieval sorcerer, the Pygmalion myth in modern film, the evidence for Cleopatra as a historical figure, and characters from Greek and Sanskrit epic compared. The program culminates in a written contest on Roman history and culture, mythology, and Latin grammar, with prizes awarded to the best school teams.
