Student-led research projects must be conducted under the supervision of a faculty sponsor who serves as the Principal Investigator (PI). Only\u00a0full-time\u00a0tenured and tenure-track faculty and eligible full-time professional staff may serve as Principal Investigators on compliance protocols. Every project, both faculty-led and student-led, must have a primary contact. Please see below for the steps for initiating protocol applications and designating primary contacts for student-led and faculty-led projects.<\/p>\n

Student-Led Research Project:<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Attend Cayuse IRB Training (not mandatory)<\/li>\n
  2. Start IRB process- Choose \u201cNew Study\u201d, enter study title –\u00a0 Preface title with \u201cSS\u201d (e.g., \u201cSS Word Play in Child Development\u201d)<\/li>\n
  3. Click on \u201cNew Submission\u201d, choose \u201cInitial\u201d from the drop-down menu<\/li>\n
  4. Address the first question in the Personnel section:\n
      \n
    1. Click on Student<\/li>\n
    2. Designate degree program<\/li>\n
    3. List your faculty sponsor as Principle Investigator<\/li>\n
    4. List yourself as Primary Contact<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Student as Primary Contact for Faculty\/Staff-Led Research Project:<\/h2>\n
        \n
      1. Start IRB Process- Choose \u201cNew Study\u201d and enter study title<\/li>\n
      2. Click on \u201cNew Submission” and choose \u201cInitial\u201d from the drop-down menu<\/li>\n
      3. Address the first question in the Personnel section:\n

        2. List your Faculty\/Staff member as Principal Investigator<\/li>\n
