Assistant professor Kirk Johnson is quoted in this Philadelphia Tribune<\/em> article<\/a> about the merger agreement between Cooper University Health Care and Cape Regional Health.<\/p>\n

Johnson said quality of care should be at the forefront of discussions, as the two institutions craft their agreement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cMaking sure that the quality of care doesn\u2019t change for patients, that it remains the same and then hopefully continues to improve over time,\u201d he said, adding that officials should consider physician recruitment and retention as well as workplace culture.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cFrom the get go, making sure whoever\u2019s in charge of human resources and employee relations to come up with a way to have a unified culture,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cSo everyone will be on the same page about what we\u2019re about as a new health care unit.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
