“Leaving The Nest” is a series of workshops and presentations designed to promote nuggets of information for students of Montclair State University. The series will provide students an opportunity to learn about a variety of “just in time” information. As students seek the necessary skills to be independent, self-sufficient and equipped for post graduate life, “Leaving The Nest” can help bridge that gap often found.
Topics will be centered around common themes, appropriate for college students. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Renting vs. Buying Property
- Filing Taxes
- Work/Family Balance
- Financing/Leasing a Vehicle
- Eating out vs. Cooking-in
- Dating on a Budget
- Fashion “Cents”
- Dining Etiquette
- Dating Etiquette
- Money Habits
- How to Invest
Presenters may include Montclair State faculty, professional staff, graduate students, community partners, alum or other contracted entities.
Our Goal: Provide a series of comprehensive life-skill workshops to students.
Learning Outcome: Students will be equipped with the necessary information, tools and resources needed for entering the workforce upon graduation or continuing their studies.
