Group Study Rooms
The Sprague Library staff welcomes you and hopes you have a great library experience. Please share your feedback regarding these policies with us.
Group Study Rooms are in high demand during busy times. These policies help ensure that Group Study Rooms are available to serve the most number of students.
Group Study Rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. They may not be booked ahead of time.
Group Study Rooms are for groups of two (2) to a maximum of six (6) students. The rooms are located on the Library's Upper and Lower Levels.
At least two (2) members of the group must be present to request the use of a room, and one (1) of the students must present a Montclair State University ID card at the Circulation Desk (Main Floor) or the Multimedia Desk (Lower Level) in order to obtain the key to a study room.
Group Study Rooms are for use for a three-hour (3) maximum period during regular Library hours. Rooms are not available during extended Library hours.
If at any time we observe that you do not have at least two people in your Group Study Room, you will be asked to vacate the room.
If an assigned room is discovered unoccupied by the group, all belongings will be removed and placed in the library's lost and found bin, and the room will be made available to other patrons. Although every attempt will be made to safeguard your belongings, the Library is not responsible for your belongings.
Never leave the library building with keys to Group Study Rooms.
Do not cover the windows on the door.
Group Study Rooms are available for study, research, and group projects, they are not to be used as a place for sleeping.
If your three hour time period has expired, then you or any member of your group must wait at least one (1) hour to sign in for another room.
Students must lock the door to the room and return the key to the Desk before leaving the Library. A five dollar ($5.00) fee will be charged for a lost key.
