Their work was related to their research assistantships on the Analyzing Instruction in Mathematics Using the TRU Framework (AIM-TRU) project. Their presentation was entitled \u201cCharacterizing Mathematics Teacher Learning through Collegial Conversation in a Community of Practice.\u201d In their research, they found that teacher learning about powerful mathematics instruction was most apparent when teachers respectfully disagreed with each other about problems of practice and their solutions. Their findings suggest designs of professional development learning environments that more directly encourage such collegial conversation.
