With learning goals such as solid AP scores, advanced proficiency, and intercultural competence in focus, we will explore a variety of ways in which theatrical texts and techniques can help meet the goals of AP courses and prepare students for different segments of the exam. Participants will select and work with a text and engage in activity design.

Visualizing Words, Expressing Images: Artful Writing (Elvira G. We will work with brief excerpts of artistic texts — from popular music to literary works — focusing on specific learning goals, such as: pronunciation and intonation, socio-cultural contexts for vocabulary, the expression and comprehension of emotional undertones, rhyme and metre, and self-confidence when it comes to speaking. Participants will practice improvisational exercises designed to boost student motivation and community; they will learn the use of theatrical techniques for reading comprehension; and they will design a theatrical activity with excerpts from authentic texts.

Letteratura italiana del ‘900 (Mirtilli Morgana)

Riflessione e analisi della lingua italiana, attraverso la lettura, l’ascolto e la comprensione di brani letterari e lo svolgimento di attività linguistiche adeguate che pongono in risalto: Le abilità di base La riflessione sulla lingua La struttura della lingua Il testo e il lessico Il testo letterario è considerato un punto di riferimento culturale e nello stesso tempo una base di lavoro per una scoperta graduale della lingua.
