{"id":2044,"date":"2020-12-01T15:30:08","date_gmt":"2020-12-01T20:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/modern-languages-and-literatures\/?p=2044"},"modified":"2020-12-01T15:30:52","modified_gmt":"2020-12-01T20:30:52","slug":"re-writing-women-into-art-history","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/modern-languages-and-literatures\/2020\/12\/01\/re-writing-women-into-art-history\/","title":{"rendered":"Re-Writing Women into Art History"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This event, on December 3, will take a fresh look at women as collectors, patrons, exhibition organizers and museum founders in Europe in the late 19<sup>th<\/sup> and early 20<sup>th<\/sup> centuries.\u00a0 Until recently, women\u2019s contributions in these areas has been undervalued, not keeping up with the attention and critical recognition that women artists have received. \u00a0Our three speakers will consider the achievements of some extraordinary and fascinating women in the art world whose accomplishments are less well known than their male counterparts of the period, though are equally significant.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be held on <strong>December 3, 2020, 2:00-3:30 p.m<\/strong>. Hosted by <strong>Sandi Toksvig <\/strong>of Great British Baking Show and QI fame, the event will feature three, fifteen-minute talks by the speakers followed by a panel discussion.
