Alli will receive a monthly stipend and teach English near the city of Graz for 12 hours per week while continuing to pursue her linguistics interests.<\/p>\n<p>As an undergraduate, Alli was an enthusiastic participant in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/modern-languages-and-literatures\/programs-of-study\/german\/spark-for-german-lab\/\">Montclair\u2019s SPARK for German Lab<\/a> since it started in 2021, and she created a German learning comic book for children while she was on Montclair\u2019s full-ride year-long <a href=\"https:\/\/montclair.studioabroad.com\/index.cfm?FuseAction=Programs.ViewProgramAngular&amp;id=28882\">Graz Sister-City Scholarship<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Alli was equally invested in her German and Linguistics studies and as a senior got to present her research on the contemporary Berlin \u201cKiezdeutsch\u201d dialect in recent media at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lycoming.edu\/humanities-research-center\/humanities-conference.aspx\">Lycoming College Undergraduate Humanities Research Conference<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In summer 2024, she is interning at both the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.germansociety.org\/\">German Society of Pennsylvania<\/a> (GSP) and the South Jersey American Association of Teachers of German (SJAATG), where she uses her German every day. Some of her work includes transcribing handwritten German historical texts, creating a user guide for the Transcribus program, brainstorming ideas to expand the German Society of Pennsylvania, organizing events for teachers, making a newsletter, and communicating with members.<\/p>\n<p>When she returns from Austria, Alli will continue to pursue a career bridging German, Linguistics, and education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alli Kodila (German and Linguistics, 2024) has won a prestigious Fulbright Austria United States Teaching Assistantship (USTA) for the 2024-2025 academic year.
