{"id":4740,"date":"2025-06-11T17:12:21","date_gmt":"2025-06-11T21:12:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/modern-languages-and-literatures\/?p=4740"},"modified":"2025-06-11T19:00:23","modified_gmt":"2025-06-11T23:00:23","slug":"italian-minor-selected-for-competitive-national-italian-american-foundation-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/modern-languages-and-literatures\/2025\/06\/11\/italian-minor-selected-for-competitive-national-italian-american-foundation-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Italian Minor Selected for Competitive National Italian American Foundation Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-4742\" href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/modern-languages-and-literatures\/2025\/06\/11\/italian-minor-selected-for-competitive-national-italian-american-foundation-program\/lopresti-niaf\/\"><\/a>Sabrina LoPresti, an Italian minor with a major in Business Administration, has been selected as one of only 20 students nationwide to participate in the National Italian American Foundation&#8217;s (NIAF) prestigious Voyage of Discovery program.<\/p>\n<p>The highly competitive scholarship program, which receives over 200 applications annually, selects just ten female and ten male Italian American college students for a two-week cultural immersion trip to Italy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m deeply honored to be one of ten female students nationally selected for this NIAF Voyage program,&#8221; said Sabrina. &#8220;As a second-generation Italian American, this is like a dream come true\u2014the perfect reward for my passion, hard work, and dedication to celebrating our culture. I look forward to exploring Rome and Lazio with their incredible history, to network with others, and truly connect with my roots.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sabrina&#8217;s selection comes as no surprise to those familiar with her. Beyond her remarkable enthusiasm and engagement in her Italian classes, she previously served as a Coccia-Inserra Intern and also held an internship with the National Organization of Italian American Women (NOIAW). Additionally, she is an alumna of the Italian American Future Leaders (IAFL).<\/p>\n<p>The NIAF Voyage of Discovery program, established by Ambassador Peter F.
