Montclair State University alumni, friends, retired and current faculty and staff, and students gathered on October 12, 2012 for the Fifth Annual Carpe Diem Society luncheon at the nearby Valley Regency (fondly remembered by many as the past home of the Robin Hood Inn).  The luncheon honored those who have established a planned gift for Montclair State.

John Shannon, Vice President of University Advancement, presented an update on the latest developments at the University and Daniel A. Gurskis, Dean of the College of the Arts, who joined the administration this summer, shared his vision for the future with the group.  The energetic voices of the MSU Encore, the Musical Theatre program’s Freshman Performing Ensemble, dazzled the audience with popular and foot-tapping tunes.  Senior and Honors Program student Maggie Bonadies ‘13 provided a personal reflection of her Montclair State experience while her mother, in the audience, beamed with pride.  Four other Honors Program students — Emmadora Boutcher ’14, Ellen Gianakis ’13, Jon Maiorano ’16 and Tony Molloy ’13 — also attended the luncheon and mingled with the guests.

The University is grateful to our planned giving donors for their loyalty, support, and friendship.  Please feel free to contact Judy Echeveria Linder ’83 at 973-655-5454 or via email at for information about creating your own Montclair State legacy.  Be sure to visit our interactive web pages at giving.
