Dr. Gerry Costa Recognized for Work with NJ Children and Families

The New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) awarded the Commissioner’s Partnership Award to Dr. Gerard Costa, Director of the Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health.

The Commissioner’s Partnership Award was created to help DCF  recognize the significant contributions made by community partners - every day heroes - across the state, who through their selfless commitment, hard work, and dedication help build strong children and families, improve the lives of others, and strengthen communities.  Commissioner Jeffrey Guenzel stated that the award is presented "to one person in New Jersey annually that exemplifies partnership and shows a sincere commitment to working with DCF to better the lives of the children and families we are serving."

The Department of Children and Families (DCF), New Jersey’s state child welfare agency, was created in July 2006 as the state’s first Cabinet agency devoted exclusively to serving and safeguarding the most vulnerable children and families in New Jersey. DCF includes the Division of Youth and Family Services, Division of Prevention and Community Partnerships and Division of Child Behavioral Health Services, and is focused on strengthening families and achieving safety, well-being and permanency for New Jersey's children.
