WEATHER ALERT: University is closed today, Thursday, February 13. (Updated: 2/13, 11:30 a.m.)

Due to the severe winter storm forecast for tomorrow, Montclair State University is officially closed today, Thursday, February 13, 2014. All on-campus classes are canceled. Fully online and hybrid classes remain on schedule.

Events/Activities: All on-campus activities and events are canceled.

University Facilities employees:  University Facilities essential employees should report for their regularly scheduled shifts unless informed otherwise by their supervisor. (Facilities employees should park in the Red Hawk Parking Deck, free of charge.)

Campus Shuttle Service: The campus shuttle bus service will resume a normal schedule when weather conditions allow.  Check the main University website for updated information.

Parking: Cars must be moved from surface lots, to allow for effective snow removal. Residential students will be notified by email with specific instructions.

Dining Services: Sam’s Dining Hall and Freeman Hall are open on a normal schedule. All retail dining venues and the University Hall Conference Center are closed.  Check Dining Services website for exceptions.

Student Recreation Center: The Recreation Center will be open 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Library: The Library will be open 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Laptops are available for loan to students from the Multimedia Resources Department, when the Library is open.

Friday, February 14, 2014:  The University will advise the campus community on Thursday, February 13, regarding when the campus will reopen, and on-campus classes resume.

Further Updates: The University will continue to monitor the progress of this major winter storm and provide updates via the University website. 



UPDATE: Pathways to Sam's Place and Freeman/Russ dining areas are being cleared as quickly as possible. Please use caution when walking outside. Also, the Recreation Center will open at 3:00 p.m.
