In joining with the rest of the nation, Montclair State University is deeply saddened by the gunman attack at Virginia Tech. The Montclair State University Police Department is communicating with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies for the most accurate information on this horrific crime and is taking steps to ensure the safety and welfare of the entire community.

There have been no threats or incidents of concern directed at Montclair State University.

Community members are always strongly urged to report any suspicious activity or persons of any kind directly to the University Police Department at (973) 655-5222. As a reminder, there are blue light emergency phones throughout the campus that automatically connect to the Police Department. After 5:00 p.m. tonight, April 16, officers will be present in the Student Center and the residence halls to answer any questions students may have.
