Dear Students, Colleagues, and Friends,
It is with both excitement and sadness that I inform you that I will be leaving my position as Assistant Director of Equity and Diversity and Coordinator of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer Center at Montclair State University at the end of this summer to be the new Rainbow Center Director at the University of Connecticut.
During my almost 5-year tenure at Montclair State, I have had the incredible privilege of working with and for many of you to create change on our campus at individual, organizational, departmental, and institutional levels. I am so very proud of all that we have been able to accomplish in that relatively short time-frame; work that even led to Montclair State being named one of the Top 25 Most LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges and Universities in the nation for the last two years in a row! I just know that good work will continue thanks to dedicated students, faculty, and staff like you.
Thank you for welcoming me into this community with open arms and open minds. I and my work are forever changed because of you and my experiences here at Montclair. Thank you, too, for the support and encouragement you have provided me and the LGBTQ Center during my time at Montclair. You have no idea how much I appreciate you.
Beginning in August, I encourage you to reach out to Dr. Sidney Gardner, the Director of the Office of Equity and Diversity, should you need assistance. Once the fall semester begins, you may also contact the graduate coordinators and peer educators of the LGBTQ Center by calling 973 655-7916 or emailing email@example.com.
Thanks again. It's been a pleasure working with you.
