Department of Broadcasting seniors, Tania Ivanova, Erica Emmich and Manny Fuentes recently received three of the four scholarships awarded by the New Jersey Broadcasters Association (NJBA) at its annual “Best of the Best Awards Luncheon” in Atlantic City. Also honored at the luncheon was retiring President and CEO of the NJBA, Philip Roberts.

A native of South Africa, Ivanova received the Anthony V. Marano Scholarship and both Emmich, of Roseland, and Fuentes, of North Bergen, received the Michael S. Libretti Scholarship. In addition to the prestige, each scholarship has a monetary value of $2,500.

“To be considered for these scholarships, a student must have an outstanding academic record, demonstrate experience and initiative in the broadcasting field outside of the classroom, and be recommended by the faculty,” says Marc Rosenweig, assistant professor of broadcasting. “From that pool of eligible candidates, the winners are chosen.”

That being the case, Ivanova, Emmich and Fuentes truly are the “Best of the Best.” Congratulations!
