Peak Performances Presents “Other Suns (A Trilogy)”

A cross-cultural dance collaboration at the Alexander Kasser Theater from October 15 - 18

Explore the splendor of Other Suns, a trilogy of dances created by Margaret Jenkins and her company in a cross-cultural collaboration with the Guangdong Modern Dance Company, China's oldest modern dance troupe. Through an intricate combination of contemporary dance forms, the work investigates symmetry and asymmetry in both Chinese and American culture. Other Suns transcends national and cultural barriers, offering a new perspective on balance and imbalance, risk and rest in our rapidly evolving global society. This unique work is set to live music performed by the Paul Dresher Ensemble.

Performance Schedule:

Thursday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m.
Friday, October 16 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, October 17 at 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, October 18 at 3:00 pm p.m.

Other Suns is co-commissioned by Peak Performances @ Montclair, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. Live music preparation commissioned by Peak Performances @ Montclair.
