REVISED: Campus mail ( relay problems

UPDATE: 1AM 3/25- An additional interim solution has been deployed. Off campus users can now send messages to other off campus addresses. Therefore, all mailing functions should appear normal at this time.

OIT staff is continuing efforts to identify the cause of the problem and additional intermittent service interruptions may occur until further notice.

Since approximately 2pm this afternoon, the campus e-mail gateway ( has been experiencing intermittent service problems including the inability to relay messages to off campus addresses.

A partial interim solution has been deployed by Office of Information Technology staff and currently all users on campus can send mail to both addresses and any off campus addresses.

Off campus users can send messages to addresses but will receive a "relay" error when attempting to send to other off campus addresses. OIT staff continues to work diligently to resolve this problem.

Additional intermittent service interruptions may occur throughout the evening as we attempt to apply a permanent fix. We apologize for the inconvenience.
