Faculty/Staff Parking Registration Information

A message from Perry Eggleston, Director, Parking Services:

Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to provide you with information relative to the Parking registration process for the 2012-2013 academic year. I ask that you carefully read this entire e-mail, as it contains important information, changes, and parking registration schedules.

We will be introducing a new type of parking permit beginning in the Fall 2012. Parking Services is discontinuing the hang tag in favor of a “repositionable” decal permit. Essentially, instead of the hang-tag that has been in place in previous years, your permit will be removable so that it can be easily transferred to a second registered vehicle on your account. You will receive instructions as to the display location when you receive your permit. 

Parking Permit Options and Changes to Lots. 

  • Full-Time Faculty/Staff surface lot permits - enable you to park in all restricted (orange) and general (yellow) surface lots.  See chart, below, for registration schedule.
  • Red Hawk Deck parking permits: Current Red Hawk Deck permit holders will be eligible to renew beginning July 9, 2012. Those Faculty/Staff members who are not current Red Hawk Deck permit holders may register for a Red Hawk Deck permit beginning August 1, 2012 until the facility has been sold out.
    • Please Note: Regarding Red Hawk Deck permits, we are moving away from the rectangular transponders to electronic readers that are embedded directly into your Red Hawk Deck permit hangtag. Hence, your Red Hawk Deck hangtag can be used to access the facility, and will also enable you to park in restricted or general commuter student surface lots.
  • Adjunct Faculty Permits - enable you to park in all restricted (orange) and general (yellow) surface lots.  See chart, below, for registration schedule.
  • Lot T1 has been renamed Lot 31 and will continue to be designated as a restricted (full-time faculty/staff) orange lot.
  • A car sharing service will be available in the Fall.  More information will be posted soon to our website: www.montclair.edu/parking

 *Red Hawk Deck Permits are in high demand and are limited in quantity.  Current permit holders will be notified of the renewal process by email. New permit sales will begin on August 1, 2012. Those interested in obtaining a new Red Hawk Deck permit will be put on an Interest List and will be contacted by Parking Services as permits become available.
