In his first day on the job on Monday, Montclair State University’s new president, Jonathan Koppell, settled into his office, began meeting people, played an early morning game of one-on-one basketball with his son in Panzer gym and sent the following video message to campus, as he sets out to build on the University’s legacy as a place that not only makes a difference in the lives of students but also in the world.

“I am so confident we are going to do great things together and I can’t wait to get started,” Koppell says in the video.

Koppell’s first weeks on campus will be busy, as he meets with members of the University community, tours campus, attends scheduled events and hosts a Town Hall meeting for employees.  “There will be many more opportunities for the entire campus community to get to know me,” Koppell says in an email to faculty, staff and students.
