Why not try to get it closer to reality with Startup Montclair \u2013 the University&#8217;s pitch competition that offers cash prizes, mentorship and other industry support to help bring your business idea to the next level.<\/p>\n<p>Check out some of the past pitch competition winners who went on to successfully launch their brands:<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mavocare.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mavo Care<\/a> \u2013 a feminine wellness brand pitched by Lisa Noesi \u201920, Kenna Brockway \u201920 and Nicole Curley \u201920 that won first prize and $50,000 in 2019.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.solosfood.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">SoLo\u2019sFoods<\/a> \u2013 a meal delivery and subscription service pitched by students Diamonque Lundy and Kheyyon Parker \u201920 that won second prize and $10,000 in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year, we have a great amount of energy and excitement behind the competition and we&#8217;ve implemented some exciting updates to the format,\u201d says Liz Rich, acting executive director of the Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship &amp; Innovation, Feliciano School of Business.<\/p>\n<p>The format includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Opening up the competition so that both individuals and teams can apply<\/li>\n<li>Only current Montclair State students and alumni can enter<\/li>\n<li>A cash prize pool of $30,000, which will be allocated to fund the best ideas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The application deadline is quickly approaching, so <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/entrepreneur\/start-up-montclair\/\">apply now<\/a>.
