Radio news reporter Glenn Schuck of 1010 WINS has been named the first-ever Professional-in-Residence for WMSC-FM, effective March 29, 2021.<\/p>\n
Schuck will work exclusively with the station\u2019s news department alongside general manager Anabella Poland, where he will mentor student reporters and elevate their hands-on experience in news coverage. The one-year agreement will allow students to connect with Schuck on a daily basis, and receive feedback on their newscasts and news reports.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been listening to Glenn since I moved to New York City, more than 20 years ago,\u201d says Poland. \u201cHe is a staple of news radio in the number one market in America, and I am thrilled Glenn will be joining us at WMSC-FM as our first-ever professional-in-residence.\u201d<\/p>\n
A graduate of Seton Hall University, Schuck began his career at WSOU-FM, the campus radio station, where he was a student news director and later station manager. Schuck spent the first decade of his career as a radio disc jockey for WJRZ and WPST (New Jersey), WAAF (Massachusetts) and KROQ (California). In 1995, Schuck returned to news, anchoring shows on CNBC and 1010 WINS, where he has remained since 2000.<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, WMSC was named \u201cBest College Radio Station\u201d in the nation<\/a> (more than 10,000 students) at the 81st Annual Intercollegiate Broadcasting Systems Awards. The accolade was one of four awards taken home by the station, which also included Best Program Director (Joshua Tirado); Best Business Manager (Kaya Maciak); and Best Use of Sound Effects.<\/p>\n WMSC-FM is one of several student-led media outlets in Montclair State University\u2019s School of Communication and Media which operate under the direction of faculty with decades of classroom, agency, brand and media production experience.
