{"id":214349,"date":"2021-03-30T07:59:55","date_gmt":"2021-03-30T11:59:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/newscenter\/?p=214349"},"modified":"2021-04-05T09:48:39","modified_gmt":"2021-04-05T13:48:39","slug":"montclair-state-graduate-programs-ranked-among-nations-best-by-u-s-news-world-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/newscenter\/2021\/03\/30\/montclair-state-graduate-programs-ranked-among-nations-best-by-u-s-news-world-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Graduate Programs Ranked Among Nation&#8217;s Best By U.S. News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three Montclair State University graduate programs have been ranked among the best in the country in the <em>U.S. News &amp; World Report 2022 Best Graduate Schools<\/em> rankings, in results released March 30, 2021.<\/p>\n<p><em>U.S. News<\/em> published new rankings for education, business and public health programs as part of its 2022 rankings. Montclair State\u2019s doctoral and master\u2019s offerings in education ranked second among New Jersey institutions and No. 103 in the nation. The University\u2019s master\u2019s in Public Health also placed second among New Jersey institutions, and moved up 14 spots to No. 135 in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Montclair State\u2019s part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) program climbed more than 25 spots in the national rankings \u2013 the highest jump of the three programs \u2013 to No. 185 in the nation and No. 4 in New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Best Graduate Schools <\/em>rankings are based on two types of data: expert opinions from reputation surveys sent to more than 23,000 academics and professionals, and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school&#8217;s faculty, research and students. Statistical indicators vary by discipline, and can include measurements such as starting salaries and MBA students&#8217; employment after graduation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The continued improvement in these rankings is a testament to the quality and growing national reputation of our graduate programs,&#8221; says Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Willard Gingerich. &#8220;Montclair State University&#8217;s ability to offer affordable, accessible educational opportunities is central to its mission, and these rankings are the latest indication that we are not only following through on that promise, but also that the academy is recognizing the high-quality level of these programs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The College of Education and Human Services at Montclair State University offers 20 master\u2019s degree programs and three PhD programs. Those included in the <em>U.S. News<\/em> rankings are master&#8217;s programs in teacher education, school counseling, and educational leadership, and PhD programs in counseling and in teacher education and teacher development. The college has additional graduate programs in exercise science, nutrition and food studies, and family science and human development (PhD).<\/p>\n<p>The College also offers a Master of Public Health degree with two concentrations. The community health education concentration prepares public health professionals to protect the health and well-being of populations through health promotion and disease prevention initiatives. The health systems and administration concentration prepares graduates to be institutional leaders in settings including local and state health departments, public and private health agencies, schools, community-based organizations, and policy and advocacy organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Housed in Montclair State\u2019s Feliciano School of Business, MBA programs with concentrations in accounting, business analytics, digital marketing, finance, human resource management, management, management of information and technology, marketing, and project management are offered, in addition to a general MBA.
