{"id":221354,"date":"2023-06-08T16:43:36","date_gmt":"2023-06-08T20:43:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/newscenter\/?p=221354"},"modified":"2023-07-28T11:53:15","modified_gmt":"2023-07-28T15:53:15","slug":"trailblazing-the-path-to-sustainability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/newscenter\/2023\/06\/08\/trailblazing-the-path-to-sustainability\/","title":{"rendered":"Trailblazing the Path to Sustainability"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Marking its eighth year, Montclair State University\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/pseg-sustainability-institute\/green-teams\/\">PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies (PSEG ISS)<\/a> launched its 2023 Green Teams on June 1, pairing students with organizations for a transformative summer internship.<\/p>\n<p>Organized by PSEG ISS, the initiative brings together aspiring environmental leaders and decision-makers to tackle pressing environmental challenges in the community.<\/p>\n<p>This year, a group of 50 environmentally conscientious students are divided into 10 teams and aligned with host partner organizations to survey, research, analyze and report on sustainability projects. The Green Teams Internship Program has welcomed a total of 370 undergraduate students from surrounding universities and degree programs over the course of the eight years.<\/p>\n<p>Amy Tuininga, director of the PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies, says the students will spend 10 weeks with their host organizations to develop and deliver high-level sustainability projects that will be presented on August 2 in University Hall\u2019s 7th Floor Conference Center.
