This innovative, 18-month program prepares successful graduates to take the RN licensure exam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe value the unique perspective these students bring to nursing. Building on their existing skills and knowledge, we are committed to preparing them to become licensed registered nurses with advanced knowledge in Care Coordination and Transition Management. We understand the needs of adult learners as they transition to a new career, and are excited to be part of their journey to becoming licensed registered nurses,\u201d says Janice Smolowitz, Dean, School of Nursing.<\/p>\n<p>The first student cohort will start in Fall 2020. Applications are now open and will be reviewed for fall admission. The $60 application fee is waived for the inaugural cohort. As a public university, Montclair State is among the most affordable options in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Admission requirements for this program:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All official transcripts<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 3.0 GPA in undergraduate studies<\/li>\n<li>A current resume<\/li>\n<li>Two letters of recommendation from employers or past professors<\/li>\n<li>A one-page personal statement explaining your reason for applying to the program, learning goals and relevant professional experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Prior to admission into the program, applicants must have completed the following prerequisite courses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anatomy and Physiology (8 Credits with lab)<\/li>\n<li>Microbiology (4 Credits with lab)<\/li>\n<li>Chemistry (3 Credits)<\/li>\n<li>Statistics (3 Credits)<\/li>\n<li>Human Growth and Development (3 Credits)<\/li>\n<li>Nutrition (3 Credits)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Prerequisite courses may be completed at other accredited institutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMontclair State University\u2019s newest forward-thinking academic offering further strengthens the institution\u2019s commitment to preparing New Jersey\u2019s future workforce for 21st-century careers,\u201d says Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Willard Gingerich. \u201cStudents in this program will now have a new, exciting pathway to a career in health care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Still Have Questions?<\/strong><br \/>\nContact the School of Nursing at <a href=\"tel:9736553693\">973-655-3693<\/a> or <a href=\"mailto:msn@montclair.edu\">msn@montclair.edu<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Pre-licensure MSN is designed to meet the needs of graduates of baccalaureate degree programs in non-nursing fields.
