Orientation+ Webinars | Available June – July 

Attend four (4) new student webinars throughout the summer to learn more about what it will take to be a successful Red Hawk. The following webinars will be offered, you must attend one of each:

  1. Summer Orientation and Academic Resources (SOAR)
    • Learn to SOAR like a Red Hawk. You will meet with the Student Development and Campus Life team to learn about community expectations and important student resources. You will have the opportunity to meet with the advisors and staff in Academic Affairs who provide support to your academic success. 
  2. Financing Your Education
    • Join us for a comprehensive overview of the financial aid award and billing process. You will meet with Red Hawk Central, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts to learn about important steps to financing your education.
  3. Life as a Red Hawk: Dining, Commuting, and Living on Campus
    • In this session, you will learn about meal plans and dining options from Dining Services. Families with commuting students will have a special session with the Office of Commuter Life. Families of residential students will have a special session with the Office of Residence Life.
  4. Red Hawk Well-Being Panel
    • Come learn about campus resources that support students’ mental, emotional, physical, and overall health and well-being from our panelists representing: Athletics and Campus Recreation, Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS), Disability Resource Center (DRC), Office of Health Promotion, and Student Health Center.

How do I log in?
  • Use your Montclair email account when signing into Zoom to be marked for attendance.
  • Use the most updated version of Zoom on your device. Zoom Troubleshooting.
I'm unable to attend a session, what do I do?
  • Reschedule your date in the orientation portal. If any of the dates and times conflict with your schedule, please contact our team so that we can help you get registered or provide you with the next steps.
I lost connection and got kicked out the Zoom, what do I do?
  • Try to rejoin using the link from your email. If you can’t rejoin, email the orientation team at orientation@montclair.edu and we can resend you the Zoom link.
Will these sessions be captioned?
  • Zoom has live closed captioning that captures the current speaker’s voice. This technology is not always accurate therefore at request we can always share presentation slides after the session with students who email our team.
