SEPARATELY BUDGETED RESEARCH, STUDENT FACULTY SCHOLARSHIP, SUMMER GRANT PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT, OR UNIVERSITY DISTINGUISHED SCHOLAR

THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR AN FY2019 SEPARATELY BUDGETED RESEARCH, STUDENT FACULTY SCHOLARSHIP, SUMMER GRANT PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT, OR UNIVERSITY DISTINGUISHED SCHOLAR INTERNAL AWARD IS FEBRUARY 9, 2018 VIA CAYUSE 424. CAYUSE 424 IS MSU'S APPLICATION SUBMISSION AND AUTOMATED ELECTRONIC PROPOSAL ROUTING SYSTEM.

For FY2019, the University will hold another open round of Separately Budgeted Research, Student Faculty Scholarship, Summer Grant Proposal Development, and University Distinguished Scholar awards, pending the availability of funds.

Please note that past awardees who did not submit a final report for a past award are not eligible to apply.  Past recipients of the Summer Grant Proposal Development (SGPD) award who did not submit a grant proposal to an external agency are not eligible to apply for a SGPD award.

Below please find guidelines and applications for the FY2019 round. All applications are required to be submitted via Cayuse 424 (https://montclair.cayuse424.com). Submission instructions can be found in each of the guidelines.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that his/her application is complete, routed, and approved by all necessary individuals via Cayuse 424 by February 9, 2018.

Separately Budgeted Research awards support faculty projects involving scholarly, creative, and/or research efforts.

Student Faculty Scholarship awards support projects which significantly involve undergraduate students working cooperatively with faculty.

Summer Grant Proposal Development awards provide funds for faculty to work during the summer on developing grant proposals to be submitted to foundations or government agencies for programs, research, training, or creative activity.

University Distinguished Scholar is a program to recognize a faculty member with a distinguished record of scholarly or creative achievement.  The award provides twelve (12) credit hours of released time, to be used in a single semester, to pursue a scholarly or creative project which will result in a significant contribution to the field.
