Degree Completion Programs

Montclair State offers a flexible and rigorous program of study that is consistent with a bachelor’s degree credential for students who have some college and have not completed their degree. This program was created to enhance students’ professional skills, including written and oral communication, analytical skills, multimodal presentation skills, and the capacity to become reflective leaders by providing a path to graduation for students who did not continue their studies nor graduate in the major they originally elected. Montclair State will launch its first degree completion program in Fall 2021.

Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies

The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies is a liberal arts degree program that is flexible in accommodating students’ academic backgrounds and promotes the development of skills that are relevant in today’s workplace. The Liberal Studies program includes concentrations in Humanities and Education Studies, and incorporates the support and guidance of a Success Coach to work with each student to develop individualized degree plans with the goal of leading the student to successful career placement or graduate studies.

Students may bring up to 90 credits of previous coursework to the program, which will be evaluated by the Success Coach. Courses in the program will be exclusively online and eight weeks in duration.
