3rd Annual University Learning and Teaching Showcase

This year, the Research Academy for University Learning will be holding the 3rd Annual University Learning and Teaching Showcase on May 2, 2012.

Our theme this year is "Promoting Interdisciplinary Teaching Ventures" but we welcome proposals on a variety of evidence-based practices used to understand and improve learning and teaching. We hope that this Showcase will provide University scholars with the opportunity to share their projects, acknowledge our colleagues' accomplishments and hold cross-disciplinary conversations to build upon each others findings in the hopes of establishing future collaborations.

Tentative Schedule (subject to alteration as we confirm sessions):

Breakfast and Opening Session: 8:00am - UN 7th Floor Conference Center

Break-out sessions: 9:00am - 11:15am - various locations, UN Second Floor Classroom

Lunch: 11:15 - 12:15 pm - UN 7th Floor Conference Center

Keynote: 12:30 - 2:00 - Rhonda Roland Shearer
Director, Art Science Research Laboratory
Editor-in-chief, publisher, iMediaEthics.org
Adjunct Lecturer, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Iowa

Title and description will be posted soon; please check back.

Afternoon Sessions - 2:00pm - 4:30pm - various locations, UN Second Floor Classroom

Last year we had over 150 participants of presenters and attendees representing each Montclair State college and school, and we'd like to sponsor the same level of representation again this year and build on the concepts and practices we have already introduced.

The Showcase is intended to be an interactive event; one held to recognize and appreciate the richness and complexity of the participating institutions. Past events have included faculty participation from Montclair State University, Bryn Mawr College, and Haverford College.

The Creative Research Center in the College of the Arts at Montclair State University www.montclair.edu/creativeresearch will cover the Third Annual Showcase on Teaching and Learning. Dr. Neil Baldwin, Director of the CRC, will serve as rapporteur for the day's proceedings; his comprehensive essay will be published online in early May 2012 at https://blogs.montclair.edu/crdirector/
